The cars typically range in scale from 1/8th to 1/12th the size of a real car, and they come in a variety of styles and models, each RC vehicle offers a range of different features and capabilities. Some RC cars are designed for speed, some are built for handling and agility, the great thing about them is they are customizable, and you can help increase different aspects to improve the car for your situation.

There are different types of RC car racing, the most popular being on-road, off-road, and oval racing. On-road RC car racing is one of the most challenging forms of racing, it is held on-road surfaces, smooth, paved surfaces.  This is seen as one of the most difficult forms of RC car racing because cars go quicker, it is one of the higher speed races and requires precise and tight driving.  Off-road racing takes place on rougher terrain, typically dirt, sand, or gravel.  The RC driver needs a different kind of skill set for this, drivers must be able to navigate their cars over jumps, bumps, and obstacles. Oval racing is held on oval-shaped tracks, they can be indoors or outdoors, and the surfaces vary.

Drivers need to learn how to handle their cars, and make decisions on controlling them quickly, as races can be short and one little move can really impact how your car moves. It is also a good thing if you are mechanically inclines, fixing your car before/during and after races is often necessary.  RC cars are also very customizable, there are many upgrades and modifications that can improve their performance and give you an edge over your competition.

RC car racing is a thrilling and challenging hobby that provides an opportunity to experience the excitement of car racing on a smaller scale.
